A man who allegedly shot at two Bureau of Land Management agents in southeastern Arizona is representing himself at his trial.
The jury trial for 71-year-old Tracy Levi Thibodeaux began Monday in Cochise County Superior Court in Bisbee.
The Sierra Vista Herald reports that Thibodeaux still is in custody at the county jail.
He's facing charges of two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a rifle.
Authorities say Thibodeaux is accused of firing at least two shots at the BLM officers near Bowie on June 5, 2010.
Thibodeaux had earlier told a judge that he's mentally capable of acting as his own attorney.
His defense lawyer and the deputy county attorney expressed concern in court regarding Thibodeaux's desire to be his own counsel.
