BREAUX BRIDGE, LA (WAFB) -
Thirty homes and businesses were damaged Thursday morning when a tornado touched down in St. Martin Parish.
Damage ranged from trees falling on houses, roof damage to several buildings and outbuildings being destroyed.
Officials say the hardest hit locations are the St. Charles St./Grand Point Rd. area as well as Roma/Guilbeau St., both in Breaux Bridge.
The National Weather Service confirmed that it was a EF-1 tornado with a three mile-long path.
St. Martin Parish President Guy Cormier has declared a state of emergency for the parish.
