ALEXANDRIA, LA (KALB) - People in Central Louisiana have seen flooding from the onslaught of heavy rains over the past couple of days.
Alexandria had between 3.5" and 6" of water in a 24-hour period as of Thursday at 8 a.m.
High water is blocking roadways and overflowing canals in the Cenla area.
One school was closed in Rapides Parish because of high water in the parking lot.
Schools in Avoyelles Parish were closed Thursday because of the weather conditions.
