TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

An accused thief who got away with stolen lottery tickets is behind bars after trying to cash the tickets in.

Texarkana Police say 20-year-old Ethan Taylor Bode is charged with attempted robbery.

The robbery happened at the EZ Mart in the 6400 block of Richmond Road early Monday morning.

Police say that when the crook saw that the clerk was not behind the counter, the crook grabbed some cash and lottery tickets then took off. They say Bode was armed at the time with what turned out to be an airsoft pistol. He got away then but he was busted Wednesday when he attempted to cash one of the stolen lottery tickets.

Bode was booked into jail at the Bi-State justice Center.
