PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A Phoenix motorcycle officer was injured Tuesday evening after being dragged a short distance by a vehicle he had stopped.

The officer, who was not named, had pulled over a SUV traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 near 32nd Street. 

When the officer approached the vehicle, the driver started to pull away. The officer's arm somehow got caught and he was dragged a short distance.

The vehicle sped off.

The officer is expected to be OK, according to authorities.
