(WAFB) - Sen. HarryReid, D-NV, is not a crowd favorite near the Gulf Coast after theSenate majority leader made comments leading up to a congressional vote forHurricane Sandy relief.

"Wehad a devastating Katrina," Reid said. "The people of New Orleans andthat area, they were hurt, but nothing in comparison to what happened to thepeople in New England."

Reid wasmaking a comparison of the government's response time to offer disaster aid forKatrina versus Sandy.

While Sandywas the most costly natural disaster since Katrina, the death toll forHurricane Katrina exceeded 1,800 people.

Sandykilled 125 people in the United States.
