An inmate died at Tent City, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
Spokesperson Sgt. Brandon Jones said detention officers found 61-year-old Arthur Madril unresponsive in his bunk at the Con-Tents Jail this morning.
Madril was in custody on a $4,000 child support warrant. He was booked into custody in September.
Jones said he was on work release status, meaning he worked during the week and reported to jail every night and weekend.
Madril returned to jail last night and in the morning detention officers found him unresponsive, officials said.
CPR was performed and an automated external defibrillator was used, but Phoenix Fire pronounced him deceased.
Jones said no foul play is suspected, and the death is believed to be of natural causes.
Sheriff's officials are waiting on the final report from the Medical Examiner.
