Car pulled from canal at I-12 and Essen

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Officials with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) say all occupants were able to get out of the vehicle before it went completely underwater Friday afternoon.

The vehicle was discovered in the water just after 2 p.m. in the canal near the westbound lanes of I-12 at Essen Lane.

It is unknown how many people were in the vehicle, but no one was inside when it was recovered.
