The cities of Madeira, Taylor Mill, Erlanger, Independence, Lakeside Park and Crescent Springs, KY have all declared snow emergencies, beginning Friday evening.
The snow emergency in Madeira is planned for midnight until 3 p.m. on Saturday.
In Taylor Mill and Lakeside Park, the snow emergency will go into effect from 8 p.m. on Friday until noon on Saturday.
For both Erlanger and Crescent Springs, the emergency will begin at 10 p.m.
As a result, no street parking will be allowed during this time as crews work to efficiently clear city streets.
Kenton County has also issued a Level 1 Snow Emergency that will continue through Saturday afternoon.
Snow emergency levels are declared by the following levels:
LEVEL 1: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy. Motorists are urged to drive very cautiously.
LEVEL 2: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be very icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roads. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work. Motorists should use extreme caution.
LEVEL 3: All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be driving during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel or a personal emergency exists. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roads may subject themselves to arrest.
