BAKER, LA (WAFB) -
An 18-year-old woman accused of stabbing her brother to death early Christmas morning will be spending her holiday behind bars.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said Tomeka Lathers was booked into the parish prison on a charge of manslaughter in the stabbing death of Dominique Lathers, 22.
Deputies said they were called to 300B McHugh Road in Baker around 12:15 a.m.
EBRSO reported the siblings got into an argument.
Detectives said the sister claimed her brother choked her and she went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed him.
Authorities said she had run away when they arrived at the home and deputies found her several houses down from the scene.
Dominique Lathers was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
