PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) -
On Sunday, a Pascagoula man was arrested after police said he stole a woman's car with her 3-year-old seated in the back.
According to Pascagoula police, 25-year-old Bradley Scott Hilsabeck of Willow Street, Pascagoula is accused of pushing the victim from her car, then he allegedly drove off.
After about 40 minutes police located Hilsabeck driving the victim's car north on Telephone Road. When officers tried to stop Hilsabeck he allegedly continued driving and a pursuit began.
Once authorities were able to stop Hilsabeck, the child was no longer in the car.
Hilsabeck told officers he left the child in the car seat at Shingle Mill Road and Jim Taylor Road.
The child was located and Hilsabeck was charged with carjacking and kidnapping. The Mississippi Department of Corrections has requested Pascagoula police place a hold on Hilsabeck for probation violation.
