ST. AMANT, LA (WAFB) -

Two men accused of breaking into cars were arrested Wednesday night and authorities reported a homeowner helped catch one of them.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office said Brent Duet Jr., 18, and Marshall Bourgeois Jr., 18, both of Gonzales, were taken into custody after deputies responded to vehicle burglaries on Ash Lane in St. Amant around 9:30 p.m.

APSO said it was called to a home for a burglary in progress and when the deputies arrived the homeowner was holding Duet.

Deputies said Bourgeois was later found at another home on the street.

They added the stolen property was recovered.

The suspects are each charged with two counts of vehicle burglary.

Bond is still pending.
