GEISMAR, LA (WAFB) -
Authorities
are asking for the public's help in finding a man who stole prescription drugs
from a medicine trailer parked in front of a pharmacy.
The
Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported the theft happened at the Walgreen's
in Geismar on Dec. 6.
Deputies
said the man nabbed the medication while the driver was inside the store making
a delivery. The suspect backed his truck up to the trailer and grabbed the
drugs.
Surveillance
video at the store showed the suspect drive off.
Investigators
said a witness described the truck as a newer model tan or beige four-door GMC
Sierra short bed. The person added the pickup has fender flares, factory rims
and tinted windows.
The witness
wasn't able to get the license plate number, but it is known it was a Louisiana
200th anniversary plate with the pelican on the left side.
The truck
was last seen speeding down LA 73 and then turning on to Cornerview Road
heading toward Gonzales.
Sheriff
Jeff Wiley is urging anyone with information to call APSO at 621-4636 or Crime
Stoppers at 344-7867.
