Gas prices fall to their lowest all year

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

There's a bit of good news around the country for drivers in the form of falling gas prices. The national average is now the lowest it has been all year.

The national average was at $3.22 for a gallon of regular unleaded Wednesday, but you've probably noticed gas under $3.00 in the Metro Baton Rouge area.

Analysts credit increased supply and a dip in demand. Drivers say they'll take it, especially this time of year.

"Oh man, it's wonderful," one man said. "I can save. I can budget. It feels great. It feels wonderful because it's been expensive, especially with this big truck. Well, you can get more Christmas gifts from people. You can give more. The reason for the season is Christ, but you can give more and everybody be happier."

In case you're wondering about the national average on this day last year, it was the exact same price of $3.22 a gallon.

One month ago, it was $3.41.
