BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A forensics team from LSU will help police in Shreveport piece through a gruesome discovery.
Highway crews discovered human bones Tuesday while inspecting a bridge in downtown Shreveport.
Officials said some of the bones still had clothing attached.
Police believe the person was male, but have no clues yet on how the person died.
"But, being so close to the overpass, it could have been a hit and run, it could have been a homicide with the body thrown over, we're not really sure," said Dr. Todd Toma, the coroner of Caddo Parish. "It's a very thick, wooded area back there."
The forensic team will start reviewing the case Wednesday morning.
