PLAQUEMINE, LA (WAFB) -

The Plaquemine Police Department and the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office arrested 25-year-old Tyrell Henderson in connection with a rash of car burglaries in the City of Plaquemine and surrounding areas.

According to police, officers recovered numerous electronic devices, jewelry, firearms and purses in Henderson's possession. Police also say Henderson has an extensive criminal record beginning in 2008 for various drug charges.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected to be filed.

Henderson was charged with three counts of simple burglary of a vehicle and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Officials remind citizens to stay vigilant, especially during the holidays. Remember to keep your vehicles locked and keep any valuables out of sight. Please report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
