BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A Baton Rouge man is facing charges after he allegedly injured his girlfriend's son.
Roman Montrell Franklin was arrested by Baton Rouge Police
early Wednesday morning. He was questioned and sent to parish prison.
Franklin
allegedly twisted the arm of his girlfriend's five year old boy until it broke. The boy had surgery on his arm Thursday morning.
The youngster confided in his grand-father at Our Lady of the Lake hospital
that it was his mother's boyfriend that injured him.
Even veteran police were
un-nerved by the act.
"Hospital staff contacted police and an investigation was
started," says police spokesman Cpl. Thomas Stubbs. "According to the
grandfather, his mother's boyfriend broke his arm because he didn't know his
ABC'S."
Montrell has been charged with
second degree cruelty of a juvenile. He will have his initial court appearance Friday morning.
