A Denham Springs woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when her car was hit by a train.
Police say Laraye London-Phillips, 29, was driving east on Florida Blvd. when she turned onto Sunland Dr. and into the path of a westbound train.
London-Phillips' car was pushed about 1,000 feet before the train was able to stop.
She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The crash happened about half a mile east of LA 449 in Walker.
There is no crossing signal at the intersection, but witnesses say they heard the train blow its horn.
