BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -
A maintenance man who allegedly killed the manager of a Bossier City apartment complex was indicted Monday on a charge of second-degree murder.
Robert Earl Walter, 54, of Shreveport, was arrested in October in connection with the shooting death of 32-year-old April Fulghum of Greenwood at the office of the Lexington Place Apartments in the 100 block of Barrington Drive.
Bossier City police say that Walter was fired on the morning of Oct. 10 as the apartment complex's maintenance man. Walter returned to the complex a few hours later and allegedly shot Fulghum. The victim was taken to LSU Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Two other office employees who were inside the office at the time of the shooting were not injured.
Walter then fled the scene of the crime in a pickup truck, and later turned himself in to Shreveport police at their training facility on Greenwood Road.
Walter is scheduled to be arraigned in Bossier District Court on Tuesday, Dec. 18.
