It was slow going on southbound Interstate 17 just south of Sedona after a tractor-trailer crashed through a guard rail Friday afternoon that left it hanging over a canyon.
Traffic was backed up six to eight miles after the 3 p.m. crash. The driver was able to escape without injury.
The cab and trailer were cleared from the scene just north of State Route 179 about 5:50 p.m. and traffic slowly was making its way toward Phoenix.
There was no word on what caused the crash.
