EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) -
East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Deputies report a
fatal accident that occurred Friday morning just after 1 a.m. at Carey
Road that left two men dead and one man in the hospital.
Deputies responded to a 911 call from an
occupant of the vehicle and found a flipped Camaro in the yard of
a residence in the 14000 block of Carey Road.
EMS pronounced two occupants of
the vehicle dead on the scene. It appears the vehicle had been traveling
westbound down Carey when the driver lost control, veered off the road and
struck a driveway culvert, flipping the vehicle and traveling approximately 100
yards.
Christopher McCoy, 27, of Greenwell Springs and Jonathan Love, 26, of Central
were pronounced dead on the scene.
The third occupant was transported to the
hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies believe alcohol may have
been a factor in the crash, but are awaiting toxicology results. Deputies are
still investigating which occupant was driving the vehicle.
