Whistle blower claims firing was over government waste

Tonight on 9News at 5: An 18-wheeler carrying 76,000 lbs. of wet cement overturned on I-10 during rush hour this morning, closing the eastbound lanes interstate.  WAFB's Johnny Aysen will have a traffic update tonight at 5. 

A former state government worker is suing the state and his supervisors, claiming he was fired for blowing the whistle on wasteful spending during Hurricane Isaac.  WAFB's Cheryl Mercedes will have more tonight on 9News at 6.
