LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - They were as close as can be, but now one Louisville
woman will have to go on without her sister. Police say one accidentally
rolled over the other with her car near Dixie Highway Tuesday night.
It's a double tragedy that friends still can't quite
believe. Friends say time only made the sisterly bond stronger for
Wilma Richardson and her sister Reba.
"It was just like two little girls who were sisters, Wilmy and Reba,
and they took care of each other," said friend, hairstylist and fellow
Beechmont Baptist Church member Vicki Davis.
Davis said she was shocked when she learned about the accident that killed Wilma Richardson.
"Got a message from a very good friend saying, ‘Call me ASAP,'"
Davis said.
She said the two sisters cared for each other because Wilma didn't drive and
Reba had health issues, but she said they were "never, ever, ever a burden
to one another at all. They took very good care of each other."
Family, Davis said, was just one of Wilma's passions. She also loved the
University of Kentucky and her church.
"At church, every time the doors were open, if she could be there, she
helped in vacation bible school, women's bible studies," Davis said.
"You wanted to Wilma to be there."
Davis said the church family will now do its best to help Reba recover from
the terrible accident with help from above.
"(Wilma's) definitely in Heaven and Reba knows that too," said
Davis.
Police call what happened an accident and do not expect any charges will be
filed.
