CAMP MINDEN, LA (KSLA) -
Louisiana legislators met with Louisiana State Police on Wednesday to gather information for a hearing to be held by the House Committee on Homeland Security.
They met at the site where Explo Inc. reportedly improperly stored millions of lbs of the M6 propellant.
Representative Jeff Thompson says the hearing will be held at the end of the investigation and after what he called the stabilization of the Explo site. Crews made up of law enforcement personnel, and Explo employees have been working to move the material to a safer storage area.
Thompson says a lot of pointed questions will be asked, like: How was the site inspected, and how often? Who was responsible for the placement of the materials, and how much will the entire operation cost?
A hearing is expected to take place sometime in January. Thompson says the purpose of the hearing will be to craft laws that will ensure similar incidents don't happen in the future.
