A Tucson man has been sentenced to three years of intensive probation for participating in a home invasion.

A Pima County Superior Court judge cited Ernesto Adrian Guerrero Jr.'s age and lack of a prior convictions as reasons for not sending him to prison Monday.

The 23-year-old Guerrero pleaded guilty in October to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities say three adults and three children were at home on April 15 when three men burst in and allegedly threatened to kill everyone if they didn't give them drugs and money.

After being told they had no money or drugs, the men searched the house and allegedly took the homeowner's wallet and cellphone and fled.

The Arizona Daily Star says the three men were arrested a short time later.
