SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
A man has been arrested following a crash and bizarre behavior on I49 Sunday afternoon.
Shreveport Police say it happened just before 1 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing a man driving a gray Mitsubishi sedan heading northbound at excessive speeds, when he allegedly slammed into the rear end of a Cadillac sedan occupied by two senior citizens identified as Warren and Linda Windham of Shreveport.
The force of the collision caused the Mitsubishi to flip several times and land on its side.
According to police, the driver of the Mitsubishi, 37-year-old Weston Ericson of Diamond Head, Mississippi crawled from his vehicle, completely naked, and began to physically assault Mrs. Windham.
Ericson was ultimately restrained by passing motorists who witnessed the attack and subdued him until officers arrived. Mrs. Windham received minor injuries.
Mr. Windham was taken to the hospital with complaints of back and neck pain.
Ericson, who sustained a possible broken arm in the crash, was taken to LSU Medical Center and ultimately charged with DWI first offense.
Police say the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
