Gonzales man booked on 40 counts of child pornography

GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

A 32-year-old Gonzales, LA man has been arrested and charged with 40 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles.

Jason Owens was arrested Wednesday following a multi-agency investigation. During the investigation, evidence was found during the execution of a search warrant at Owens' home.

Owens is charged with violating a state law forbidding a person to produce, distribute, possess, or possess with the intent to distribute pornography involving juveniles. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison on each count.

The multi-agency investigation was conducted by the Attorney General's High Technology Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, and the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office.

Owens was booked into the Ascension Parish Prison without incident.
