COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The man who died inside a Five Points tattoo parlor Tuesday afternoon said he was going to play Russian Roulette just before shooting and killing himself, according to the coroner.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said Mannon Turner, 42, of West Columbia and the owner of Five Points Custom Tattoo walked into the business at 2009 Greene St. together around noon.

Watts said shortly after they got inside, Turner asked two people "if they wanted to play Russian Roulette." They told him to "stop messing around," said Watts.

Watts said Turner then proceeded to unload all but one bullet from the .357 Magnum, spin the cylinder and place it to his head. He pulled the trigger and the weapon discharged striking him in the head, said Watts.

Turner died at the scene, the coroner said.

A Columbia Police Department incident report states Turner has recently purchased the gun.

The Columbia Police Department continues to investigate. Watts has not ruled the incident to be an accident or a suicide.
