BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
The lineup for the 2013 Bayou Country
Superfest has been announced.
The concert weekend is May 25 and 26 at LSU
Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.
The lineup for Saturday, May 25, 2013 is Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker,
Thompson Square, and Love & Theft.
The lineup for Sunday, May 26, 2013 is Luke Bryan, Zac Brown Band, The Band Perry, Rodney
Atkins and Frankie Ballard.
"This event is too good for Baton Rouge, not to be Baton Rouge and in Tiger Stadium," said Paul Arrigo, from Visit Baton Rouge.
"This doesn't belong in Tuscaloosa, it doesn't belong in Gainesville, it belongs in Tiger Stadium and we've got to keep it here- because it's good for the community."
The city-parish will not give concert promoters hundreds of thousands of dollars this year as an incentive. The promoters will instead take advantage of a new state law set up to give tax rebates to large events that qualify; in this case, the rebates will be tied to ticket sales.
"Look at the level of talent that we bring to Baton Rouge every year," said EBR Mayor-President Kip Holden. "There are plenty of people who would like to be in the position we are in."
Reserved-seat tickets in two-day
packages for the Bayou Country Superfest go on sale Thursday, December 6 at
10:00 a.m. CST through Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets or by calling
(800) 745-3000. Single-day tickets to the Bayou Country Superfest will go
on sale in the coming weeks. The Baton Rouge River Center Box Office will be
open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Bayou Country Superfest will
be a reserved-seating event, so fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early
in order to get the best seats available. A limited number of discounted
two-day ticket packages will be available at certain price levels.
