A representative from Linus Bike releases statement about commuter cycling after conclusion of Daylight Savings Time.
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) November 22, 2012
On November 22, commuter bikes manufacturer Linus Bike releases a statement about commuter cycling after the conclusion of Daylight Savings Time.
Following the end of Daylight Savings Time, many commuters could be left biking home in the dark. While safety is often a concern for cyclists to consider, regardless of time of day, the time of year adds an additional issue to consider. Salt Lake City, UT, has already contemplated this issue and come up with a solution for the cyclists in their city.
According to Deseret News, “the Salt Lake City transportation division and police department will partner with bicycle advocacy organizations Bike Utah and Salt Cycle, to provide free bicycle lights to riders on the road who are not properly equipped.” The article goes on to state, “The goal of the bike light giveaway is to promote safety and prevent accidents through raising awareness about bicycle safety.” Salt Lake City transportation will also be providing installation assistance for those cyclists that require it, Dessert News reports.
China Reevers, a representative for commuter bikes manufacturer Linus Bike, applauds Salt Lake City by stating; “We’re very happy to hear that Salt Lake City has already considered the possible safety concerns for cyclists during this time of year. But as it gets darker earlier everywhere, it’s important to make sure that everyone – from cyclists to the people that they share the road with – understand the dangers and make sure that commuter cyclists are well equipped to get to and from their destination safely.”
Linus Bike is a California-based bicycle manufacturer that specializes in creating vintage style city bikes and commuter bikes. Not simply a bicycle company, Linus Bike sells a complete line of accessories for the environmentally conscious and for those who have a fondness for European style bicycles and the great tradition of European cycling.
