PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ (CBS5) -
A 23-year-old Prescott Valley man accused of stalking and assaulting his wife is now facing additional charges after taking a teen hostage during his arrest, according to police.
The Prescott Valley Police Department said the 18-year-old victim reported the two got in a fight on Nov. 7. The victim said Taylor Anthony Calhoun strangled her and allegedly threatened to kill her if she called police.
The couple separated.
Police said they put in "attempt to locate" requests with area police agencies and were actively looking for Calhoun to make an arrest.
On Nov. 15, police learned the victim was carjacked by Calhoun in Prescott Valley.
The victim reported that she was leaving Yavapai College for home when Calhoun jumped out of the trunk of the vehicle through the backseat. The victim said she tried to stop but Calhoun reportedly grabbed the wheel and forced her to keep driving.
The victim was able to eventually get away and call police.
On Monday night, Calhoun was arrested at a restaurant in downtown Prescott after taking a 17-year-old man hostage and then barricading himself inside the restaurant.
Prescott police said Calhoun grabbed the teen after police attempted to arrest Calhoun at a nearby grocery store. Calhoun ran into the restaurant, locked the door behind him, and then locked himself in the bathroom. Calhoun eventually came out unarmed.
He's charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in the standoff with police. He's also facing charges on two counts of unlawful imprisonment, two counts of aggravated assault, five counts of aggravated harassment, one count of stalking and two counts of endangerment.
Calhoun was on felony probation for prior domestic violence charges.
