WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) -
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says the 31-year-old man who robbed a gas station then called the clerk several times to apologize has turned himself in.
Captain Mike Stanley with the sheriff's office said Douglas Samuel Luck surrendered to deputies on Monday night.
He is charged with a strong armed robbery that happened on Nov. 17 at the Sky Mart BP Station on 1924 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard.
According to authorities, Luck entered the gas station around 8:15 a.m. and acted if he was going to make a purchase.
An incident report states Luck then went behind the counter, grabbed the clerk's hand and took money from the cash register.
Investigators say Luck then left on a moped with a partial tag of CBS.
The sheriff's office says Luck was identified as a known customer at the gas station and has since called the victim of the robbery several times and apologized for the robbery.
