MORGAN CITY, LA (WAFB) -
A woman accused of stealing over $93,000 from the company she worked for was arrested Monday afternoon.
Celeste Portier, 28, of Bayou L'Ourse faces charges of computer fraud, theft and unauthorized use of an access card.
According to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office, the investigation began with a complaint from a business in Amelia.
Portier no longer worked for the company when the complaint was filed.
Detectives said the investigation showed Portier used a company credit card to make unauthorized purchases and used a company computer to transfer money from a company account into a personal one.
They reported the theft went on for about a year.
They added their investigation included a forensic audit.
Authorities said Portier was arrested at her home.
She was booked into the St. Mary Parish Jail.
No bond has been set.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office assisted with the arrest.
