Hit and run crash leaves victim in critical condition, driver sought

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man is hospitalized and police are looking for a driver after a hit and run crash early Sunday morning.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said it happened in the 5100 block of Alvin Dark Avenue around 1:45 a.m.

Officers said a 26-year-old man was hit by a car as he was crossing the roadway.

He is listed in critical condition in an area hospital.

The car is described as a silver or light-colored 1999 to 2002 Honda Accord EX.

Investigators said the car has alloy rims, is missing the driver's side mirror, is missing the center cap on the front left tire and possibly has damage to the front left side.

They said it headed northbound toward Tigerland after the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
