DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) -

The investigation continues into a crash that resulted in a home going up in flames Sunday.

It happened on Clinton Allen Road just south of Cane Market Road in Denham Springs around 6 p.m.

The car plowed through the front of the house, rupturing the gas line and sparking a fire.

Firefighters said the endless supply of fuel presented a unique challenge.

"We had problems getting the gas cut off," said Chief Frank Murray of the Livingston Parish Fire Department District 4. "We didn't want to put the meter out. We were afraid of it catching and causing a bigger fire or an explosion, so we had to leave it burn, put the fire out around it until the gas company arrived on scene and was able to locate the line, dig it up and cut the gas line off."

The driver and the one person inside the house both walked away from unharmed.

The names of those involved were not released.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
