SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Shreveport police arrested a robbery suspect Wednesday after he allegedly choked a man before stealing his wallet in a casino bathroom.
Police say they responded to a report of a robbery at the Eldorado Casino in the 400 block of Clyde Fant Parkway on Sunday, October 28th. When they arrived, a man told them he was attacked by an unknown male in the bathroom who choked him until he was unconscious and took his wallet. Part of the attack was seen by a witness at the casino. The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Police say the suspect got into a vehicle and left the casino.
Police reviewed surveillance video that showed the man following the victim into bathroom. They were able to identify the suspect as 45-year-old John Swinney.
Investigators went to Swinney's home and brought to the police station for questioning. Police say after they interviewed Swinney, they charged him with simple robbery and booked him into the Shreveport City Jail.
