Meth suspect flees court, changes plea

LIVINGSTON, LA (WAFB) - A man on trial for a meth lab pled not guilty, made a run for it, then changed his mind and decided to plead guilty.

According to reports, Paul McMorris, 28, took off before opening statements on October 23rd.  He was captured later that evening.

When the trial resumed the next day, he had decided to change his plea to guilty.

McMorris was initially arrested when a search warrant was executed at his home and investigators found two active meth labs, as well as meth.

He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
