Roseland company breaks ground on expansion

ROSELAND, LA (WAFB) - A Tangipahoa company broke ground Friday on a $10 million expansion project.

Smitty's Supply Company will add 100 construction jobs and 50 permanent jobs.

The company serves 48 states and 50 countries.

"This is home. This is a homegrown company," said Tangipahoa Parish President Gordon Burgess. "Ed and his staff is doing a super job and we certainly appreciate all the efforts that they are doing and to bring those jobs right here in Tangipahoa Parish."

Smitty's makes and distributes fluids like motor oils, lubricants, hydraulic fluid and brake cleaner.
