BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A two alarm fire Tuesday morning left three homes damaged and the fire department says it was caused by improper disposal of ashes.
St. George Fire Department units were dispatched at 8:02 a.m. to a reported house fire in the 1700 block of Twisted Oak, in the Oak Hills area.
They arrived at 8:05 a.m. to discover the back half of the house on fire with fire threatening neighboring homes on both sides.
A second alarm was called, bringing a total of five engines and two ladder trucks and more than 30 members of the St. George Fire Department to the scene.
The fire was declared under control at 8:39 a.m.
There were no injuries.
The home was more than half consumed by the fire and a car in the driveway suffered serious fire damage. A neighboring home suffered moderate fire damage to the rear of the home, while the other neighbor suffered minor fire damage.
A St. George fire investigator was called to the scene. The fire was determined to be accidental.
