I've always admired NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw. After all, he's a Louisiana native and he led the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Superbowl wins.
It's an amazing accomplishment. That's why I was so disappointed to hear his comments on Drew Brees breaking Johnny Unitas' record for most consecutive games with a touchdown pass.
Bradshaw said of the record 'it didn't blow me away...I'm not into records, I'm just into winning football games.' He went on to say, 'we lose sight of why we play. We play to win and to win championships, not to break records.' Does anyone in the Who Dat nation believe Drew Brees is not in it to win games?
And, yes, while the record is a huge honor for Brees, in typical Brees fashion he quickly and graciously said the record belonged to more people than just him. Like Drew Brees, Bradshaw is without a doubt one of the greats of the game.
But, when it comes to play-calling, Mr. Bradshaw, you got this one wrong.
