BREC's Boo at the Zoo

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo will host its 19th annual Boo at the Zoo event on October 17, 18, 24 & 25th. This merry, not scary trick-or-treat extravaganza offers a safe and friendly environment for children to learn about new animals and wander through the merry-not-scary Hay Maze. Boo at the Zoo has become Baton Rouge's largest trick-or-treat event, and is expected to draw more than 30,000 visitors from across the metro region.

Happy haunts include: trick-or-treat stations, a Halloween Hay Maze, Merry-Not-Scary Boo Den, Ed-Zoo-Cation Station, Spooky Train Ride and Safari Photo Booth. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Zoo's Flamingo Café, Rotolo's Pizzeria, All Star Catering and Sno-Mobile of LA. All children in attendance will receive a free trick-or-treat bag.

Admission gates will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Zoo grounds close at 5 p.m. Regular Zoo admission applies. For more information on Boo at the Zoo 2014, click here or call (225) 775-3877.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
