DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
A mother is behind bars after her newborn baby tested positive for marijuana.
Decatur Police said April Inez Fielder gave birth to a baby boy on September 10 at the Parkway Medical Center. The baby tested positive for THC.
The Department of Human Resources and Decatur Police investigated the case and found Fielder had smoked marijuana during her pregnancy.
Fielder was arrested on October 9 and charged with chemical endangerment of a child. Her bond was set at $2,500.
