A Night Out Against Crime held on LSU campus

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Local law enforcement agencies teamed up with the community in A Night Out Against Crime.

Officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department, East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office and State Police were among those out there to meet the public.

Those who attended the event got the chance to interact with the various agencies and get a first-hand look at some of the equipment used to fight crime.

BRPD Chief DeWayne White says the event is great way to establish relationships with members of the community.

"It shows unity in the police department and it shows that we actually care about our community and we want to be part of it. Days like this are so instrumental in building those relationships with the people we serve," White said.

This event was part of the National Night Out Against Crime.
