Tonight on 9News at 5: The LSU System is planning to lay off 341 workers from Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge to save $39 million.  WAFB's Jim Shannon will have more on a meeting Thursday between state lawmakers and LSU System officials that could end with even deeper cuts to the university's charity hospitals and clinics.

Juban Parc Junior High's football team left the field with a loss at last night's homecoming game.  But two of their players still had big smiles because of a plan they've been working on since last year got a classmate some special attention.  WAFB's Tyana Williams will have more on 9News at 6.
