Driver leads deputies on high speed chase

PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) -

A driver accused of leading police on a high speed chase through two parishes is expected to be charged Thursday.

It started around on I-10 in West Baton Rouge Parish between Port Allen and Grosse Tete around 7:30 p.m.

Deputies with the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported seeing a car driving without its lights on.

They said the driver would not pull over and actually "floored" it.

The chase eventually ended at a restaurant off Siegen Lane in Baton Rouge.

Two people were inside the stolen car.

The driver was taken into custody.

Names and charges have not been released.
