SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX (KLTV) -

Move over Houston and Dallas, there's one East Texas town that might become a must see town in Texas in just a couple of weeks.

Sulphur Springs is building two new all glass bathrooms on their downtown square.

"The overriding principle is that as long as it's brighter outside then inside you wont be able to see in it," says Sulphur Springs City Manager, Marc Maxwell.

It's the all glass bathroom that also serve as functional art.

"So it's like the windshield of your car except a whole lot thicker and a lot stronger and it's got that mirrored finish in between the layers," says Maxwell.

Lights will be located around the base of the bathroom to ensure that it is always lit. That is what keeps people from being able to see inside the bath, so the inside of the bathroom will not have any lights.

The walls of the bathroom will be made out of laminate safety glass.

When you think restroom one seldom thinks art, too, but that is exactly what this restroom was up until a couple of years ago.

Italian artist, Monica Bonivicini, created the piece titled 'Don't Miss A Sec' in 2004. The piece of art was located outside of a museum in Switzerland.

"So the artist set it up outside of the museum and it was part of the overall exhibit. There was a construction site next door and the construction workers began using the bathroom and I guess from there the idea evolved. They moved the exhibit around to various places in Europe," says Maxwell.

Sulphur Springs created a replica of Bonivicini's artwork and it will be the first of its kind in the United States.

"We're hoping it will be a source of tourism, somewhat, because you know what generates tourism is things that are unique and this is definitely going to be unique. Not just in East Texas but in the united states," says Sulphur Springs Mayor, Craig Johnson.

"In the end I think everyone will like it and everyone will talk about it," says Maxwell.

The restrooms should be done by the end of October.
