Appleton Ave. shooting suspect arrested in Texas

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A man wanted for a deadly drive-by shooting that happened earlier this month on Appleton Ave. was arrested Thursday in Texas.

Jermaine Williams, 32, is accused of shooting David Atkins, 27, on September 5th.

Atkins was walking with a second victim in the 2700 block of Appleton when he was shot and killed.  The second victim was unharmed.

Williams was arrested by the U.S. Marshal's Task Force in Harris County, Texas.

He will be extradited to Baton Rouge and charged with second degree murder.
