BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man is behind bars after being accused of killing two men Monday who were found shot to death inside a car near a sugarcane field.
Authorities say Ronald Anthony Harrell, 38, of Baton Rouge and Junius Dedrick III, 46, of Ventress were the two men found in the car. The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office said both victims had been shot.
According to IPSO, a motorcycle patrolman spotted a car in a ditch on LA 1 near St. Louis Road in Plaquemine around 6:30 a.m.
When he walked up to investigate he spotted two people dead inside.
Sheriff Brett Stassi said debris on the road indicates the car was driving very erratically before crashing in the ditch.
Harry Prater, 30, of Baton Rouge was arrested and charged with two counts of first degree murder and one count of obstruction of justice. Brandi Singleton, 29, of Baton Rouge was also arrested and charged with one count of obstruction of justice.
Both were arrested in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked as fugitives from Iberville.
