The Pink Ribbon Luncheon was held at the Duke Energy Center on Thursday afternoon.
The Cris Collinsworth ProScan Fund kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month by hosting the luncheon in 2002. Organizers say over the last 10 years, the annual luncheon has helped fund mammograms for 1,784 patients, follow-up breast health services for 323 patients, complimentary transportation of hundreds of patients and more than 2,800 pink ribbon bags sent to women newly diagnosed with breast cancer.
Grammy Award winner Martina McBride was a special guest at the luncheons this year. The event entertained a sold-out crowd raising more than $400,000. Next year's luncheon will be held on Oct.3.
