Gov. Jindal approves merger of LSU jobs

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Governor Bobby Jindal has approved the combining of the LSU System President's post with the Chancellor's job for the Baton Rouge Campus.

In theory the move would save millions of dollars and help the different schools and colleges work more closely.

LSU has been without a president since late April, when the board dismissed John Lombardi.  Former Chancellor Michael Martin left in August to become the head of the Colorado State University System.

William Jenkins is filling both positions temporarily.
